The Bachelor of Commerce degree is designed to provide the student with a wide range of managerial skills and also help in building competence in the area of Business and Students are also equipped to take up the Key Roles in other Sub areas of Business such as:

  • Accounting, Finance, Taxation,
  • Human Resources, and Statistics,
  • Marketing,
  • Banking,
  • Economics
  • Information Systems and Business Analytics

One can pursue BCom and shape a career in various sectors like banking, financial services, business and industry, government services and law. BCom also opens doors for Professional courses like CA, CMA, CS and also to pursue master’s in Business Administration and Commerce.

The Department of Commerce and Management aims to ensure that every student gets an equal opportunity to become an enterprising and productive citizen and thereby contribute to the great pool of human resource. The faculty members are well qualified and pursuing research in the ever-expanding field of commerce and management. Several faculty members have authored textbooks and reference books and are actively involved in syllabus restructuring to make sure that what is taught within the class reflects, and is applicable to, the real world of commerce and management. The Department regularly conducts competitions, workshops and seminars to keep the students abreast of the latest in the world of commerce. The Department has a steep cut off percentage in terms of student intake which ensures that there is consistency in quality of teaching and student performance.

Goals of the Department:

  1. To organize and enrich Teachers through Faculty Development Programmes on emerging trends in commerce and Research Methodology.
  2. To facilitate Industry Interface Programme for the students to bridge the gap between academic and Industrial needs.
  3. To encourage students to participate in Cultural, Commerce & Management competitions at Interclass, Intercollege and Inter-University levels.
  4. To integrate placement training with academic syllabus in order to equip students with employability competencies.
  5. To offer career guidance sessions in order to enable students to have an idea of the areas where they make their career.
